How is your prospective baptism going? Oh yeah...it's not until april.
ha yeah its not for a while but we are super stoked! we have another lesson with him on thursday...i think. but super sweet! and our couple investigators just found out that she is pregnant! way cool and im super excited for them! they talked a lot about having a baby and now they really are!
Is it getting hotter now? Now that you have nice and warm sweaters? and a wool suit? It rained today but all this past week has been super nice..50's-60's.
haha you think thats nice this last week it has been in the 70's-80's! so super nice! but now its starting to cool back down and it raining a ton! but still around the 70's. so its been really really nice.
Best and worst this week?
mmmm...best this week was we had zone conference yesterday which is why im writing today but it was so super powerful. prolly the most spiritual one i've been too. talked about the difference of spending our time and investing out time. what do you think the difference is between those two are? this is open to the public...not just my momma. but mom and dad i want you to answer too. (If you put it in the comments I always relay what is said to Jensen so he's aware of who and what is being said)
What're you going to do today?
today we are prolly going to end up playing board games with the sisters at the church cause they can't really do anything else...or they don't like to do anything else. not that there is anything wrong with sisters...they are just kinda hard to play basketball with when we want to play for reals we have to kinda take it easy and on our p-day. we want to release all that energy!
we're getting ready to send another package...any requests?
well...lots of black socks. my sock keep getting holes in the toes and i don't really like that when we have to go into a memebers...or anyones and have to take our shoes off and theres a big...fat...hole in my sock that is showing off my beautiful webbed toes...hahaha that made me laugh just seeing that. :) john bytheway and motab. i have called to serve and praise to the man and the other ones that you sent me but any that you can get me would be stupendous! :) and maybe some...i don't know. just what ever you put in there will be awesome! :)
Favorite meals that YOU've made....hehe and someone else...
my favorite meal that i have made prolly has to be...either marshmallow mateys or peanut butter crunch. :) not very much to cook when your a missionary. and that someone else made was some chicken rollups that a family made and brought over with some gravy/soup that you poured ontop of it. made me think of the ones that you make. :)
Oooo ... I love Chicken Blankets with gravy (is that what your Mom makes? crescents filled with chicken and cheddar/cream cheese). I hope the members are feeding you well (and if you come across a recipe you like, ask for a copy!)
ReplyDeleteThe sisters not play basketball ... man, those whimpy girls - they are giving us a bad name.
Spending time vs. investing time. I see if as a bank account. We are all given the same amount of time each day. If we go through the motions without real thought of what we are doing (out of habit or routine), I see it as spending. If we deliberately think about what we do - even the routine moments/activities - and try to improve or look for the Lord's hand in our lives, it is more of an investment in our happy memory bank that we will need when we are older ... the moments that we dwell on and think about as we get older. Your journal/letter writing will be a part of that investment. I love how Elder Eyring did a gratitude journal each day for his family. He wrote how he saw the Lord's hand in his life each day. As he acknowledged the Lord's hand, he saw more and more moments of the tender mercies each day. I need to do that. I am grateful for the funny and tender moments that my kids provide for me. I try hard to remember and journal them. We have a family gratitude journal on our kitchen table next to our scriptures. I need to get better at pulling that journal out daily to have the family report on their gratitude. As we acknowledge and appreciate the blessings in our life, we will have an attitude of gratitude. People love to be around others who are happy and loving (just like your Mom - she is such a wonderful example of being loving and giving). I need to do more investing my time (thinking of the Lord's hand in my life and making note of it/journaling) than spending my time. When we have a purpose - even in the menial tasks - we are adding to our invested time.
