yeah when i read about the testimony story it made me think about how the kindling could be the works that we have to do to endure and push through. the fire and the gasoline could have been a super powerful spiritual expirence but we can't just throw some gas on a fire and hope that that will be enough to sustain our testimony. we have to work at maintaining our testimony by enduring to the end. and some of the most easiest steps are through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonment, Repentance, Baptism (or partaking of the sacrament and renewing our baptismal covanants), recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost (or faithfully listening to and heeding the promptings of our sacred gift of the Holy Ghost), and Enduring to the End. these things make it possible for us to recieve eternal life. i know with all my heart that if this is what we do faithfully we can spend eternity living with not only our earthly family but our eternal families! i love you so much mom and dad. also i love my brothers. i am so thankful for your example to me and striving to keep me on the right path.
last night we were having dinner with a family who has a son on his mission and they were talking about things that he wished he had listened to that his parents told him. it made me think about you mom and how you tried to start reading the Preach my Gospel manual. i truly wish i had finished reading that with you and with our family.
thank you so much for everything you have done for me mom and dad. dad i am thankful for your example to me in serving your mission. i realize that us missionaries now have it so easy now that we have the Preach My Gospel manuals. i don't know how effective the flip charts and the discussions were back then but i know it must have been harder than i think it was so thank you for being an example to not only me but my little brothers.
i love you guys so much and miss you too! tell adi and the new baby chickens hi for me and adi a big kiss on the lips for me!!! hahahaha :) until next time,
