hey everyone. this week was pretty slow. it's still hard with elder curtis.
yeah sometimes it's really hard to follow what the spirit is telling you. you really need to have that spiritual practice to be able to discern whether the spirit is telling you something. this week was really good. we visited with our other investigator and we had a great lesson! unfortunately she is moving very soon cause she lives in campus housing and she needs to be out of there by may 5th. so we had a really good lesson. with her this time. she didn't talk as much as she did in the lessons we've had before so it was pretty nice. she is Irish so you can prolly imagine what she is like. but anyway we had the lesson and we were thinking about inviting her to be baptised and so elder curtis ended the lesson and i got the prompting to invite her to be baptized and she accepted! i asked her and right after she said "i don't have to do it right away right?" and then our members spoke up and bore their testimonies about what we taught her was true. members are soooo good when they are getting active in missionary work. like christian said that he never tracts, he only works with members and less actives. i wish we could do that here cause it is SOOOOOOO much more affective having the members working on their friends than having some random guys or girls come up to you and start talking about some weird religion they have never heard of or we might look to professional and they are scared to talk to us, so thats why we need you guys to do that for us!! talk with your nonmember friends!! invite them to church! or to an activity that the church is having. SOMETHING!!! do something about warning those who haven't been warned because we have the burden on our shoulders as members to do the warning part. i promise that if you will do your part in talking with some one about the church, God will do the rest. like in Alma 32 it talks about exercising just a partical of faith. that can be applied to this. if we just do a particle of what Heavenly Father wants us to do then he will take care of the rest.
well thats my missionary shpeal. how often do you go to the temple? i wish i could go soooooo bad!! i still haven't been and i know that we take having the temple so close to us in Utah for granted. we here are surrounded by temples that are 2-3 hours away and we don't get to go to them! we will be able to go to the temple when we are closer to it but for now we just have to lean on the spiritual strength of church meetings and the like. temples are essential in helping us everyday. we will be able to keep ourselves clean and protected from the evils of this world as we enter into the beautiful temple to become closer to God. and there's another one for ya! haha
