so now to the weekly report.
well this week was a long one. we had transfers this week and instead of having p day on monday we had to have it on wednesday. so its been a long one. we got transfer calls on saturday and none of our district is getting transfer except for one of our ZL's and he was here for just one transfer...or maybe two but really short!
so the week before we had exchanges with the elders in indianola and they came to knoxville and elder n. and i went to see a lady by the name of beverly. she hasn't come to church in over three years and so we had always just gone over to see how she was doin and stuff like that. so we shared a message with her and we asked her to come to church and she turned us down right on the spot so we didn't really focus on that. we left and the week later elder e. and i went to her house and had a special lesson planned for her. she has a real problem with the mountain meadows massacre and thought that it was so horrible for these people to do that. we had brought with us an article about that and how it was all a misunderstanding and we finished reading it and looked up and was crying. i thought she was crying for some other reason but it turned out she was upset. we told her that we agreed that it shouldn't have happened and then the conversation turned into something so spiritual. elder e. started saying that this isn't something that should be holding her back from going to church. something that happened 150 years ago shouldn't be something that keeps your salvation at stake. he was so bold with her and i was kinda surprised at the way he was talking to her but then we asked her to come to church and we again told her that coming to church was something she needed to do in order to get over this thing. she then said im not making any promises but i will try my hardest to come to church. and i was amazed! and she came to church! the spirit works in such mysterious ways and is so powerful! its so awesome to see the effect it has on some of the most stubborn people. awesome!
we just got back from exchanges with indianola this morning and had a great time over there. when i was with elder d. (elder n.'s comp.) we talked to a guy who was drunk and you could smell him from a mile away but we gave a sweet explanation of the book of mormon and how god not only has scriptures about the people in jerusalem but also has some about he people in the americas. it was pretty cool.
over the past few days i have been struggling with remembering the things i learn. i think i am afraid to talk to people and say something that might offend them and have them be turned away from hearing our message. that's one of the things i am trying so hard to work on right now. im pretty open with the people i know but i shut myself off to everyone else i don't know. but i know i'm growing because everyone says that you can't grow if you are comfortable and i am definitely not comfortable. ha but i know that the lord will guide me and help me recognize the spirit if i am willing and ready to change and learn to open my mouth!!!
i love the members in knoxville. we have been fed so many times by the members and im starting to get to know and like this small branch.
well, thats all i have for this week. i love and miss you so much and can't wait to hear back from you!
