What are you doing to prepare for your baptism this week?
well...we don't have a baptism this week. we have some in june and one in july
Are you feeling good? Everything working well in your body?
yeah every thing is going well with my body. i just my body could lose a few pounds so that the fat that i do have doesn't jiggle around when i walk but i will hopefully soon get that offa me. :) haha
What was the best thing this week?
best thing this week was that we invited someone to be baptized. he is a guy who had some problems and has been reading from the book of mormon and has really changed his life around and has accepted a baptismal date on the 16th of june! it is amazing what the book of mormon and the lord can do in the lives of every single person on this earth.
If you're training...does that mean you're the district leader too?
nope. just training. it does happen. like elder excell was district leader while he was training me
What was the funnest thing you did this week?
funnest thing i did this last week was prolly seeing my friend from school and being able to work things out with elder curtis. we are getting along pretty well now. it just took some time getting used to him.
How did you listen to the spirit this week?
the way i listened to the spirit this week was when i was in our lesson with our investigator who had the problems and was prompted to bear my testimony during the lesson and it was so powerful and i don't remember half the things i said in that lesson as well as in my testimony.
Thanks for sharing how you felt the spirit this week!
ReplyDeleteWe had the sister missionaries from the single adult ward Julia attends over on Friday and fed them our homemade Chicago style Pizza (as per your suggestion of pizza) ... and one has gluten issues - oh well. The sisters challenged our girls to listen to the spirit and follow the promptings to share the gospel with their friends. The sisters shared a funny story about how they were both prompted to invite their waiter at a restaurant to a single adult activity. They both ignored it and then both shared their prompting to each other when they got to the car. They went back in to the restaurant - with the excuse to use the restroom - and ran into him at the door. They invited him to the single adult activity - and went to the bathroom (to make it look like they really needed to go back in the restaurant). While in the restroom, they were both prompted to invite him to church. They did. He accepted. He hasn't been yet, but they keep following up with him. They told us that if we follow the promptings immediately, we will be spared from the awkward moments of making an excuse why you need to go back and use the restroom, or borrow something. Great advice!
You guys are doing great work ... we need to follow those promptings as we will make your work easier!
One of Julia's co-workers has been asking a lot of questions about the church. Curiosity. That is what opens doors.
Julia also had an experience early this week of being prompted to share with someone - and her friend had the same prompting. Her friend told Julia that she doesn't know how to share what she doesn't believe anymore... so sad. This might be an opportunity for Julia's girlfriend to feel the spirit again. It might open the door for the individual they were prompted about - but more importantly to touch the heart of Julia's friend who is "lost sheep". The Lord left the ninety and nine to go after that one sheep.
