341 days left

hey!!! every thing here is going great!!! we had a great testimony builder happen. on this last fast sunday we were all asked to fast as a mission for rain cause we have been having a really really bad drought and the farmers really needed rain so we were going to fast and even before we started our fast it rained so much and so hard!! it was awesome to see that when we are willing to start something and set on doing it the lord blesses and we have seen the effects also of the fast because we have had so much rain this last few weeks. we also had to give a talk yesterday which was really nerve wrecking. i don't know why! haha i can teach hundreds of lessons but i can't even give a silly little talk with out being nervous! i was thinking about it and i think the reason for that is because i can ask the people im teaching a leson to i can interact with them and ask them questions and get them involved but with a sacrament meeting talk i have to just sit there and talk on a subject for the next 15 mins and hope that they don't fall asleep as i talk. :) haha funny how things work like that.

anyways we are trying to progress the work here as school is starting back up and we had a few more students come into the branch this last sunday with all their parents and all that jazz. made me think about when im goin back to school.

so christians pictures are sooo cool!! i wish i could baptize people in the ocean! and the picture made me laugh out loud! hahaha sooo funny i remember the real game we were going to and christian held that up and got a few people to smile and even laugh!!!!! hahaha soooo funny!! keep that momma and we'll use it when we get back! :) hahahaha

well thas about it for over here! i love you and miss you tons!!! can't believe that i only have almost 11 months to go!! can't wait to hear back from you!!!

Questions:
Ok, I meant to ask you this last time...so you got a new chick letter...I liked the stamp story...but I wanted to know what you thought about getting a letter from someone you didn't know at all.  Was it awkward?  Did you like getting it?  What did she say?  And most importantly, have you written her back?
oh i thiought it was awesome! she sounds way cool and funny! she told me about herself and from her picture that you sent me i can see that she is pretty cute! :) haha i did write her back and am waiting for a response. actually im waiting for a couple to write me back. hopefully soon i'll get their letters.

How is your prospective member?  I laughed out loud when I read that your investigators are all girls.  Do you ever think?...they are just wanting to learn more because we're cute...are they REALLY interested?  At what point do you turn them over to the sister missionaries?  Or not at all?
nope! we won't turn them over to the sisters cause they are in our area and they are young single adults. what?! you think we can only have guys to teach? haha we would have a pretty hard time getting young single adult guys if we didn't have YSA girls there to attract them into our dungeon of religion!! haha funny. just made that up on the spot. :)

Are you any closer to a baptism date?
umm right now at this moment, no. we didn't have our main investigator at church yesterday and they won't answer our texts. :(

Best thing about your cute companion Elder Tekanene?
mmm best thing about elder tek is that he has so many stories from his island. haha they eat dog and its pretty funny to hear the stories of him trying to chase a dog down...mind you these are wild dogs. nobody owns them. they just run around willy nilly so they take them for the pickin.

A member of a ward there.
the sign is where the mormon handcarts stopped and rested in iowa city. pretty cool. its got cool little sites where you can read about who stayed where and all about their journey.
