348 days left

haha oh man we are just getting boatloads of things that you guys have! ty and christian both have to have glasses and i have the hearing prollems. i have good eyes and i don't think i have the kidney stones cause if i did i think i would have had some already seeing as im almost two years older than christian.
so this week has been alright. we are having more success and seeing new potential investigators show up and it is truely a blessing from being obedient. i am getting up in the mornings on time or even earlier cause we have some other elders who like to work out and so we got it approved to go work out at this gym and i love it!!! they have every type of weight you can think of and they have tredmills and i think i run at least 3 times of the 5 days we go there. we go there mon-friday at 6 to about 7:10ish. soo good! and im drinkin protien shakes like non other! the branch doesn't feed us as much as the ward did in ames so we are having to hold off on how much we eat so its been almost like a God given diet! haha. i don't know if thats bad to say but its true.
anyways...our investigators are all girls. surprise surprise....haha i don't know what thats suppoesed to mean, but they are pretty stong willed ladies and they are really intrested in what we have to say. we had a lady who was like, not interested but wanting some company or she wanted to hangout. and we couldn't do that because of the wast of time it would have been.  anyways so yeah i am trying so super hard to get out of my comfort zone and go around this ped. (pedestrian) mall and try and talk to people. i have absolutley no prollem tracting but when it comes to talking to people out in public i just freeze. so we are walking around there every day and i am getting used to that and i think it will start to come naturally the talking with people.
i really like the people in our branch but the area is the hard part. sometimes its the other way around. so thats crazy that randy got his mission call to the same one as gavin!!! i bet they will see each other at like transfer meeting. or something like that.

hey momma. wanna try something? if you have at least an hour every day study from just the book of mormon. read. and i will do the same for a week and see where we are. that way you can hold me accountable and i can hold you accountable. if you don't have at least an hour every day for a week then at least try for half an hour. go out with the chickens and just sit there in the peace of the outside and read. i think that would be awesome! i wish i could do that outside. anyways...just an idea. i love and miss you so much! i saw a comersial on the tv while we were doing laundry that made me think of you. it was about the olympians and how all their moms still think they are little kids to them. :)

Questions:
Are you going to campus and asking people to listen to you?  Like standing on a box and stuff?!!  haha  uhh no we aren't but i think we might end up having to do that to find some more people.

I wondered how come you get made fun of so much?  Just because of the helmet?  And why is it hard to talk to people/students your same age?  Why do you think it's so much harder then the last student area you came from?
well we are just working now with the young people. we don't have members we can just go visit willy nilly anymore. we actually have to get out and ride around and talk to people. and we didn't have a bike in my last area. if we did im sure we would have gotten made fun of a lot more. i think talking to people who are my same age is harder cause they are in this stage of their lives where they don't care some much about religion as they do about their tan or who's throwing the next party on friday night. so its harder talking to them and thinking they will listen to our message.

What do you wish would happen this week out there?
what we are hoping and praying and fasting for is to have a baptismal date this week on sunday with one of our investigators. she seems like she could be ready pretty soon.

What is the best thing this week?
best this week was our numbers. haha we have had to say all zeros because we haven't had any investigators and now we can say that we have three now! awesome!

This week I wished I would've walked more and read more diligently in 3rd nephi. and been more proactive..what is something you wished you did better?
i wish i would have opened my mouth and shared the gospel with more people. i wish i studied more out of preach my gospel than i do already. i wish i ate better than i do.

  1. I love those commercials too!!!

We are in 3rd Nephi as well as a family! We read 3 pages a day - at least try. It has been amazing to see Kendall's reading ability improve 10 x 10! I've even heard the bishopric and Primary Presidency comment on his reading ability when they were listening in on a talk he was giving. Not bad for a young 6 year old! There are amazing promises when it comes to reading the BOM.

My Mom had this quote by Marion G Romney hanging on our fridge when I was a teenager and I remember her referring to it as well. It is from the April 1960 General Conference (before my parents were converted and before I was born, but this quote is used in many conference talks about the blessings of reading the BOM)
"I feel certain that if, in our homes, parents will read from the Book of Mormon prayerfully and regularly, both by themselves and with their children the spirit of that great book will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein. The spirit of reverence will increase, mutual respect and consideration for each other will grow. The spirit of contention will depart. Parents will counsel their children in greater love and wisdom. Children will be more responsive and submissive to that counsel. Righteousness will increase. Faith, hope, and charity the pure love of Christ will abound in our homes and lives, bringing in their wake peace, joy, and happiness."

Who would refuse these blessings?!!?! I feel like I need to turn up the notch for myself as well.

    Keep up the great work!
