Last night around 9:30 p.m. our time...Iowa is an hour ahead of us (central time) I got a call from LDS missions with and Iowa prefix. I couldn't wait to answer it. I knew it wouldn't be Jens and it wasn't. It was Sister Jergensen letting me know that Jensen had arrived safely and that he was all tucked away nicely in bed asleep. That they had had a nice testimony meeting that evening and that they were on their way out (this morning) to their new areas...she said "I could tell you where he's going to but I like to leave it to the missionaries to tell their families and let them have the surprise.. He will be with a trainer (she was very general about how long his trainer had been out..."they are usually out like 6 mos to a year, but the MTC is starting to train new missionaries to be trainers right away like within 3 mos and we could tell that these new missionaries are from that batch") and he'll be up and running in no time. .. (crickets) well of course he'll be running...he's a soccer player." And his new p-days will be Mondays.
I'm sure that not ALL mission president's wives call home but it was such a nice gesture to let their families know how they're doing and that they got there safe. I know I appreciate it a ton!!
