day 33

so anyways this week was really good. we did our normal thing on monday and then tuesday we went on exchanges with the indianola companionship on tuesday and wednesday. i got paired up with elder dearing. he is really cool. they live in an actual house which is kind of creepy. i would hate living there.

anyway so we first started out tracting because our appointments fell through. we started out on one street and had no success so we went to these appartments and started knocking and we found a few people who talked to us but didn't want us to come back for a second visit. we started walking out side and saw this girl sitting on a table waiting for her ride to come get her for work so naturally we missionaries go up and talk to this girl and she has never heard of our church or the book of mormon. so we talk with her about it and we get her to accept and read the book of mormon and follow up with her in a week or so.

after we talked to her we went into another appartment and was able to meet a lady who was a wicken...uh not so sure what that was so we asked her to tell us about that. let me just tell ya that it was very...interesting to learn about the wicken religion? i don't even know if it is a religion.

so anyways, the next day we went and did service for this lady and she went and got us some blizzards from DQ and i got a nutterbutter one which was so good!

but after that elder excell and i had to leave for knoxville. we went to visit some less actives and then we went to mutual with the young men and women of the ward and they played soccer!!! theres this guy from hungary. i think i told you about him but anyway he is the young mens leader and he is really good! he was converted to the church and then went to byu and played for them when he was about 21.

thursday we had zone meeting and then the companionship from olskaloosa just drove back to knoxville with us and went on exchanges with them here. the guy i went with was elder palmer. we talked to like 6 or 7 people and placed four book of mormons! awesome!

friday they stayed through the plannings and then they left and elder excell and i had weekly planning.

saturday was amazing! we had decided to go tracting today so we started out on the east of washington street and work our way down. we knocked on a few houses and then knocked on this one house which looked kinda sketchy. it had a door into a kind of indoor patio and knocked on the real door. we knocked and this guy full of tattoos comes out and tells us to follow him outside so im thinkin' he is going to yell at us or tell us to get off his property but no...we had a nice conversation about the things that have been going wrong in his life and how he really needs something to get him back on his feet so im thinkin, yes we are exactly what he needs and so he tells us to go down toward his car and now im back to the nervous thinkin he is going to shoot us with a gun in his truck. so we walk to his truck and he opens up his passenger door and i see this thing in a case and am thinkin oh no here it comes! but it turns out it was a guitar. so we have this way spiritual talk with him and ask him to commit to chuch but he didn't come to church.

well the library people are kickin me off of this now so i will tell you about it later. maybe in a letter. i love you all and miss you so much.

love
Elder smith.
